56-Year-Old Bicyclist Struck by Truck in Naperville Dies: Police

Police investigating crash after woman hit by pick-up truck at the intersection of Diehl Road and Freedom Drive.

A 56-year-old Naperville woman died from injuries she sustained after being struck by a pick-up truck Wednesday morning in Naperville, police said.

After receiving numerous 911 calls, authorities responded to the intersection of Diehl Road and Freedom Drive Wednesday to find that bicyclist Shwuwei Yeh had been hit by a 2006 gray Nissan Titan pick-up truck.

Police said a 35-year-old from Aurora was driving the Nissan eastbound on Diehl Road while Yeh was traveling in a "northerly direction" attempting to cross Diehl Road on the east side of Freedom Drive when she was struck.

Yeh was transported to Edward Hospital in "very serious condition," but later died of her injuries, according to police. 

Naperville police are currently investigating the crash.
