Local Songwriter to Work with Three time Grammy Award Winning Producer

Jon Conover, a singer/songwriter from Sandwich, IL, is set to begin work on his third studio album with three-time Grammy award winning producer/engineer and Joliet, IL, native, Trina Shoemaker, in January 2014.

Over the past decade, Jon Conover, a Sandwich, IL, resident and former restaurant and theatre GM, has worked in top studios in Nashville, TN, Chicago, IL and Los Angeles, CA, recording his own original music.  As an independent artist, Jon has completed two full-length studio albums and toured extensively throughout the United States as well as in Ireland and had a song licensed to a feature film.  In pursuit of advancing his exposure and songwriting endeavors, Conover lived in Ireland briefly as well as in California.  His sojourn in these areas helped him expand his fan base, earn radio play and eventually led to a productions agreement with Warrior Records recording artist/producer, Ed Roth (Avett Brothers, Coolio, Sophie B. Hawkins, Chad Smith’s Bombastic Meatbats). Throughout his career, Conover has had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the biggest names in music, both live and in the studio, and his latest album will be no exception.

Conover is now on the brink of starting his third studio album and is set to work with three-time Grammy Award Winner, Trina Shoemaker.  Jon and Trina where introduced through a mutual friend several years ago, but the timing had not been right to allow for this joint effort to come into fruition until now.

Trina is originally from Joliet, IL, and after living in California and London for a brief period she moved to New Orleans and met famed record producer, Daniel Lanois.  Under Lanois’ guidance and training, Trina mastered the craft of engineering studio recording sessions.  On one such recording session, she met singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow.  Shoemaker went on to work on several albums with Sheryl Crow and became the first female to receive a Grammy Award for best-engineered album for her work on Crow’s “The Globe Sessions”.  Trina currently has two Grammys with Sheryl Crow and one with Steven Curtis Chapman.  Trina has just been nominated for her fourth Grammy Award for her work with an independent singer/songwriter.  In the past, Trina has also worked with names like The Dixie Chicks, Queens of the Stone Age, Blues Traveler, Emmylou Harris and Brandi Carlisle, just to name a few.

Jon Conover and Trina Shoemaker plan to start work on the new album, “The Middle”, in January of 2014 in Nashville, TN, and you can be a part of it.

On January 20th, Conover and Shoemaker will start tracking the new album at Oceanway Studios in Nashville, TN.  They will be working with top musicians including hit songwriter and guitar ace, Keith Gattis (Kenny Chesney, Kid Rock), drummer Fred Eltringham (Wall Flowers, Dixie Chicks, Ben Kweller) and bassist Frank Swart (John Hiatt, Patty Griffin). Producer/arranger and musician extraordinaire, Ed Roth (Warrior Records), who played on and produced Jon Conover’s last album, will also be joining them in the studio.

A portion of this album will be funded by the online creative support platform Kickstarter.com.  On this website you can become a backer by pledging money to help support the project in exchange for exclusive gifts delivered to you straight from Jon.  On Jon Conover’s Kickstarter page, you will find photographs, the story behind the project and a video produced by Jon Conover and long-time creative collaborator/film producer/photographer Andrew Young, www.andrewyoungphotography.com, explaining all the details.  The Kickstarter has already started and is running through December with a deadline of January 1st.
