Letter to the Editor: Water Street District 'Right Thing to Do'

Naperville Patch welcomes letters to the editor. Letters may be submitted to Local Editor Collin Czarnecki at collin.czarnecki@patch.com.

I am writing this letter to express my full support for the “Water Street District“ proposal.

Having lived in Naperville since 1988, I have seen the many changes which have taken place, mostly for the betterment of the community as it grew. We should be proud of our up to date infrastructure and excellent financial rating. Some of the Historic character has been preserved, some has been replaced with modern developments to serve the varied demographics of our citizenry as it changed.

For over ten years, I first rented then owned and lived in a Condo at RiverPlace, 509 Aurora Ave. I am familiar with Marquette Companies and I could not be more satisfied with the quality of the organization and their Condo conversion and management of RiverPlace.

I have confidence the Water Street District proposal is the right thing to do at this time, I have waited for a place visiting family and friends, business associates can stay at in downtown, and enjoy the ambience, restaurants, River Walk, etc.

Please support this development without significant down scaling and work out the issues reported in the local press, including appropriate zoning variances if needed to address the concerns members of the community have expressed.
