Helping Women Sever the Legal Ties That Bind Her to an Abusive Relationship

                                      Rise From The Ashes

RFTA: Helping a woman sever the legal ties that bind her to an abusive relationship

What would you do if your husband beat you? Would you leave? Would you be able to leave even if you wanted to? Could you understand the legal system enough to battle his attorney’s in court for the custody of your children, knowing that domestic abuse is not always considered a factor in custody cases? Would you qualify for an apartment while he buries you in credit card debt? How can you move on when your children, finances, mortgage, and marital status are all tied to him? How will you ever be free if the law does not recognize that the relationship is over? You can’t, you couldn’t, and you would need help.

RFTA is the only nonprofit designed to specifically serve the civil legal needs of a domestic abuse survivor. From the moment a woman enters our program, she will know that our team is fighting not only for her, but for the lives of her children as well. From counseling to legal representation, we will make sure that not only does the law recognize that the relationship is over, but that she gets the fighting chance she deserves at a life free of abuse.

When a woman is fighting for her life, she shouldn’t have to fight alone.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, but sometimes it takes a community to save a family. Speak up, help out, and let’s give these women the fighting chance they deserve.

RFTA is currently seeking individual volunteers and local businesses to aid us in September for our Community Carnival fundraiser.
