Welcome to Naperville Patch

What Patch means for Naperville, and the city's residents, families and businesses.

You may have noticed that Patch sites are popping up throughout the United States. As of this week, more than 130 Patches are covering local news in various states.

But Naperville Patch is different, in a category all its own.

We're No. 1, you might even say.

With a rapidly growing population currently near the 145,000 mark, Naperville is the biggest city yet to have its own Patch. That's why instead of having just one editor manage the site, we have two, and a cadre of local writers eager to tell Naperville's stories.

We are excited to be a part of Naperville and look forward to building a strong online community just for you.

You may be wondering: What is Patch? Patch is much more than an online newspaper. It's your local hub of news, events, announcements and volunteer opportunities. Not only is it a place where you can go to find out what is happening in the community, it's a place where you can find information on a variety of local businesses and organizations.

We are professional journalists with years of experience covering community news, and we look forward to writing about Naperville and its residents. Naperville Patch belongs to you, the community. It should reflect your interests, stories, events, fundraisers and all the dynamics that make this city great.

We are here to support you whether that means reporting on city council meetings or publishing photos from the Girl Scouts' car wash. Our goal is to provide the news you want to read, so we will share stories about locals, volunteers, businesses, schools and their students, as well as local government. We will provide you with restaurant reviews, arts and entertainment coverage as well as special local columns.

As you read this you become a stakeholder in Naperville.Patch.com. It's imperative that we hear from you, whether in story comments, through e-mails, contacts through our online tip form, or just saying "hello" when you see us working in the community.

We want your feedback and we hope that you guide us on this journey through your community.
