Check In to Naperville Public Library on Foursquare and Win a Prize!

The Naperville Public Library’s foursquare campaign has begun. 

“We are so excited to see who “Checks In” to our three library locations!” explains Social Media Team Member Mary Jo Chrabasz.

Foursquare is a smartphone app that people use to “Check In” to different locations, keep up with friends, get insider tips, and unlock discounts and rewards.  Smartphone users can even earn points and badges just by Checking In to your current location on foursquare!

During the month of October, Naperville Public Library is giving a prize to anyone who Checks In to a Naperville Public Library location for the first time and unlocks the special.  Once the special is unlocked, the Library user can show their phone screen to a staff member at any public service desk to receive their prize. Chrabasz notes that, “this first special is to make our patrons aware of foursquare and to encourage people to Check In and share their experience with others when they come to the Library” This promotion will run until Monday, October 31, 2011.

Additionally, foursquare rewards users who Check In to a location the most times over a 60 day period with a “foursquare mayorship.”  To recognize the foursquare mayors at each of our three Library locations, we will be putting up posters with the mayors’ foursquare avatar and their favorite book recommendation.  “This is a small, but special way to thank the patrons who are frequent visitors to our Library,” says Chrabasz.  Make sure to look for the posters in each of our Library locations!
