Breed: Labrador retriever

Background: Marlena was brought to A.D.O.P.T. in a shelter transfer from Kentucky.  She has been at A.D.O.P.T. since January 20.

Personality: Marlena is one of our spectacular seniors.  She has a happy go lucky temperament and is eager to please.  She is a lover for all people!  She would thrive in an active home where she can go on walks.  While her age has placed her in the senior category, this girl is quite strong and will require obedience training to teach her some manners and self-control.

Adoption fee: $225

Agnes

Age: 3-1/2 Years Old

Breed: Female domestic short hair - gray tabby

Background: Came to A.D.O.P.T. from Chicago Animal Control in January 2012.

Personality: Agnes is a queen size lady, but that just means there is more of her to love.   Her big tummy provides more area for the belly rubs that she loves so much and believe it or not being chubby does not prevent her from bopping around enough for a fun game of chase.  She shares a room with 7 other cats so another cat should not be a problem.  She can be found lazing in Comm 2.

Adoption Fee: $100

Other: All animals at A.D.O.P.T. are vet checked, spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and are up to date on age related vaccines.

Where to find these pets: For more information about any of the cats and dogs we have available for adoption, please contact A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter at 630-355-2299.   All animals are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and are up to date on age related vaccines.  The shelter is a no-kill, nonprofit, animal shelter at 420 Industrial Drive, Naperville.  Visit us at www.adoptpetshelter.org.

Tuna is a 4-year-old male domestic shorthair.  He was surrendered due to allergies in the family.  He is a very affectionate cat and loves to sit on laps and play with toys.  He will acclimate quickly to new situations and can live with dogs and another cat.  He would be good with kids of all ages and is used to an active household.  This love bug won’t be here long so come by soon and look for Tuna in the front lobby.

Captain is a 3-year-old male terrier mix.  He was a shelter transfer from Oklahoma and is now looking for his forever home.  He can be a bit shy in new situations, but will warm up quickly.  He loves to go for walks, but is not much for playing with toys.  Just being around people would suit him just fine.  As he can be a bit nervous, kids in his new home should be at least 8 years old.  He is good with cats and dogs that are on the calm side.  Captain will be awaiting your arrival!

More dogs and cats are available at the Naperville Area Humane Society.  All the animals have been examined for health and temperament, started on their vaccines and microchipped.  They are spayed or neutered at adoption.  Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.  Visit us at 1620 W. Diehl Road in Naperville or online at www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.
