Adopt Me! Esther, Jim, Nelly, Dimpy

Jim Hawkins is a 2-year-old male Domestic Shorthair that was transferred from another shelter due to lack of space. He is a very friendly cat who just loves to sit on laps, get lots of belly rubs and cheek scratches. He would be good with dogs and maybe another cat. Kids of all ages would be a great match for him since he is very tolerant and loving. Come on by soon to meet Jim Hawkins. He promises to be your new best friend!

Esther is a 10-year-old female Maltese Mix who was transferred from another shelter after being found stray. She is a super sweet and affectionate girl, but does need some extra TLC due to the fact that she has no teeth. She is good with other dogs and possibly a cat. Kids in her new home should be at least 8-years-old due to her petite size and age. Esther hopes you have room in your heart and home for a great gal like her.

More dogs and cats are available at the Naperville Area Humane Society. All the animals have been examined for health and temperament, started on their vaccines and microchipped. They are spayed and neutered at adoption. Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Visit us at 1620 W. Nelly and Dimpy

 Age: 1-year-old

Breed: Chihuahua

Background: Nelly and Dimpy were brought to A.D.O.P.T. in a shelter transfer from Quincy. They‘ve been at A.D.O.P.T. since May 2012.

Personality: This pair loves each other very much and they are quite bonded. We hope they can be adopted out together. Nelly is the leader and Dimpy is the follower. Nelly will be the first to greet you and then somehow communicates to Dimpy that everything is safe. Both dogs are a bit shy and timid. Once they have warmed up to you they are lap magnets.

Adoption fee: $250 each OR $350 for the pair.

Breed: Calico - Domestic Short Hair Mix (Female)

Background: Owner give up.

Personality: Kennedy is definitely a "people" cat. Although she tolerates other cats - she would love to be part of a human family again. Curling up on someone's lap is her idea of the cat's meow. Spend some time with her and we are sure you will fall in love.
