Worried About Searching for Jobs Online? Here’s Help!

Searching for a Job is Scary. The Naperville Public Library has 2 free classes that will help.

Phishing! Online fraud! Identity theft!  Online job searching can be very scary. So get help at the !

Library staff member Kathy Kearns will teach a class about Safe Online Job Searching on Monday, Oct. 3, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Dziedzic Community Room, Nichols Library, 200 W. Jefferson Ave. No pre-registration is required for this free class.

With so much information for job-hunters on the Internet, where do you start?  Kathy will teach you what’s available and how to use free websites, social media and library databases to conduct your job search without compromising your personal security.  She’ll include information on avoiding phishing/online fraud/identity theft, securely submitting resumes, and maintaining personal safety when networking with social media.

Kathy also promises to have lots of hand-outs so when you are actually doing the online job search you’ll continue to get help, too!

A second job search class about interviewing and interview questions will be offered on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Meeting Room A/B, 95th Street Library, 3015 Cedar Glade Dr. “The Interview Game: I Hate That Question” will be an informative, highly interactive workshop designed to improve your interviewing skills while participating in a fun game show format. Teaching the class is Scott Andersohn, M.S., SPHR, Executive Coach and Business Trainer, Water’s Edge Coaching. No pre-registration is required for this free class.
