Free Tracking Journals Given Out at Healthy, Wealthy & Wise Kickoff Jan. 31

Keep yourself motivated to keep your New Year's Resolutions. Get a free tracking journal at the Healthy, Wealthy & Wise kick-off Thursday, Jan. 31

Tracking, note taking, writing it down – no matter how you describe the concept, many experts believe tracking is the key element to success in keeping resolutions.  Free tracking journals that allow you to record, in detail, all your health, wellness and financial goals for 2013 will be given out at the Healthy Wealthy and Wise Kick-off on Thursday, Jan. 31 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. And the first 25 people who visit the library’s HWW information table will receive a free pedometer.

“HWW is a unique community-wide combination of education, motivation and tracking,” explains John Spears, Naperville Public Library Executive Director. “The Library is partnering with a variety of community organizations to become an unbiased center for health and financial information. Not only will the Library present programs but we will also be a source of information about other educational programs in the community.”

The Kick-off will feature a fair that starts at 6:30 p.m.  Almost a dozen area health, exercise and financial concerns will have booths were you can get information as well as see demonstrations.  Massage Envy’s south and east Naperville locations will be offering free massages and an aesthetician will also be available for facial consultations. For the kids, DuPage Children’s Museum and Soccer Shots will have interactive exhibits.

Then, at 7 p.m., well known Naperville financial advisor Alice Wood will speak about "The Power of a Day - The Power of a Choice."  She’ll explain how “"We make so many seemingly mindless decisions every day that impact our lives more than we begin to know. This presentation can help anyone take on every day and every choice as though it makes a difference...because it does."

The January 31 kick-off event is just the start!  Every month this year, the Library will be offering programs.  In February alone there are 10 programs covering everything from financial assistance in paying for college to “Coupons 101” with Rachel Singer Gordon, the Mashup Mom.
