Hear 30 Books in 30 minutes at Saturday's Bookfest

Okay, maybe you won't hear 30 complete books. But you will hear 30 one-minute synopses of books of all genres given by the authors themselves as they try to interest you in reading their books.

PitchFest at the Glen Ellyn Public Library will open Glen Ellyn's annual BookFest celebration. Beginning at 9:30 am, members of the Author!Author! marketing group will shepherd authors to the podium one at a time to talk about their books for exactly one minute. When the buzzer goes off -- it's on to the next author!

Immediately after PitchFest the Author Trade Show begins where you can talk to the authors in a more relaxed manner and get a more in-depth look at their books.

Local historian and author Kate Gingold will be pitching her "Little House" version of DuPage County history and taking part in the Author Trade Show. Gingold's Ruth by Lake and Prairie was honored with an award by the Illinois State Historical Society as a "wonderful way to present history to young people."

PitchFest and the Author Trade Show at the Glen Ellyn Public Library are free and open to the public Guest speakers are also featured throughout the day at various Glen Ellyn locations. See http://www.bookfest.org for complete information.
