It will soon be time to pop a cork and enjoy some bubbly. 

But before you head out to the store and grab the first bottle you see, we have listed some suggestions below from Wine Spectator on the best sparkling wines that will not break the bank. 

Wine Spectator offers these suggestions for top-rated sparkling wines and champagne: 

  • DOMAINE CARNEROS Brut Carneros 2009: $28. Wine Spectator gives the sparkling wine a score of 93 out of 100. 
  • GLORIA FERRER Brut Carneros Royal Cuvée Vintage Reserve 2005: $32. Score: 91
  • ROEDERER ESTATE Brut Rosé Anderson Valley NV: $28. Score: 92

Sparkling Wine vs. Champagne. 

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between sparking wine and champagne?

The answer, according to About.com, is that "the Champagne we know and love comes exclusively from the Champagne region of France, and claims the honor of being the most famous of the sparkling wines."

"Technically, it is the only sparkling wine that may be referred to as 'Champagne,'" according to About.com.
