Since its founding in 1989, the shelter has placed over 25,000 animals into permanent homes. It is A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter’s mission to improve the quality of life for animals and to place them in loving and permanent homes through rescue, extraordinary and compassionate care and humane education. In addition, A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter is the only animal shelter in the western suburbs offering low-cost spay/neuter services for other animal rescue organizations and the pets of low-income families.
