NCC Hosts Intersection Day of Service

North Central College is holding an Intersection day of service May 7.

Churches, families, groups, businesses and other volunteers are invited to participate in a day of building, cleaning, landscaping and making a difference.

The day will benefit 15 service agencies, nonprofit organizations and projects in Naperville, Aurora, Plainfield, West Chicago and Bolingbrook. Volunteers can choose where they would like to work.

Organizations include: Almost Home Kids, Bolingbrook Christian Health Center, Bryan House, Calvary Food Pantry, Care Net, Emmanuel House, Green Harvest Food Pantry, International Justice Mission, Lakewood Nursing Home, Touch My Heart, Triple Threat Mentoring, Wayside Cross, Wayside Cross/Lifespring Women's Shelter, We Grow Dreams and World Relief.

The service day begins with breakfast at 8 a.m. at Wentz Concert Hall followed by a brief program. Volunteers will work from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then enjoy a celebration event and light dinner at Harvest Bible Chapel in Naperville.

The cost is $5 for students, $10 for individuals and $25 for families for food and supplies.
