Makin' Strides for Strays Walkathon Benefits ADOPT Pet Shelter

Humans and canines are invited to join the fun at the 19th Annual 'Makin' Strides for Strays' Walkathon to benefit the homeless animals of A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter on Sunday, May 6 in downtown Naperville.

The walk begins with registration from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Naperville’s Fifth Avenue Station, 200 E. 5th Avenue. A Blessing of the Animals is scheduled for 8:30, followed by a 5k walk through historic downtown Naperville and along the scenic riverwalk.  Refreshments will be served along the route and at the finish line. 

Funds are raised via pledges per kilometer or set donations.  Prizes are awarded to high pledge-getters. This year’s specially designed  “Makin’ Strides for Strays” T-shirt will be awarded to all participants turning in pledges of $100 or more. Refreshments, shopping opportunities, and entertainment for humans and canines alike will be available after the walk.

2012 Best in Show Walkathon sponsors are Pet Supplies Plus and Ryan Hill Realty; other sponsors include Invisible Fence, Ice Mountain, Belgios, Natura Pet Food, NutriSource and Qdoba.
