DuPage Forest Preserve Offers Volunteer Opportunities
Discover the rewarding path to helping others — and yourself — through volunteering with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. Learn about the District's 10 specialized programs during upcoming "Grow With Us: Volunteer!" informational events.
On Jan. 15, stop by an open house from 9 a.m. to noon to discover the numerous opportunities available. Interact with current volunteers and staff members throughout the event, and hear a one-hour overview of the volunteer programs at 11 a.m. On Feb. 9, attend a question-and-answer session from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. to find out detailed information about which options fit your interests and schedule.
District volunteers help school groups and visitors discover nature, bring history to life, and care for animals. They restore critical habitats, maintain public facilities and help visitors explore forest preserve trails. Individuals of almost all ages will find opportunities for themselves, and families can volunteer together. Scout groups, youth groups, corporations and organizations can work on special projects that will bring group members together through shared accomplishment.
Weekly, monthly and one-time volunteer opportunities are available.
The informational events will take place at the District's headquarters in Wheaton, which is located within Danada Forest Preserve at 3S580 Naperville Road.
