Community Corner

Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation September Meeting

Join us for the first NAHC Monthly meetings of our new program year on Saturday morning, September 21st at 8 AM (for coffee and networking) in meeting rooms B&C of the Naperville Municipal Center.

Gina Herrmann, Director of Career203, and Dan Bridges, Superintendent of School District 203, will speak about Career203, the District’s innovative new program for teacher compensation and professional development.

Naperville Community Unit District 203 is one of a handful of school districts nationwide that has changed the concept and the salary structure for teachers’ professional development to allow for broader educational opportunities and flexibility; with the goal of bringing that knowledge directly to bear in the classroom and district curriculum. The concept of offering a number of “career paths” and “bricks” for teachers marks a new era for District 203 teachers.

Our guest speakers will also bring attendees up to date on Future Focus, the District 203’s community outreach effort, and their progress with implementing the Common Core State Standards. Whether or not you live in District 203, this should be an interesting discussion on new trends in the business of our children's education (and how our tax dollars are spent).

Coffee and networking for this meeting will be sponsored by Vanguard Community Management.

As always we promise to bring the meeting to a close at 10 AM so you can get on with your day. We hope to see you on Saturday, September 21st!
