Community Corner

Love Opens Doors

"Lead with Love," a grassroots group formed by members of Grace United Methodist Church for the purpose of creating a more welcoming environment for the friends, family and members of the Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender community, is sponsoring a series of six learning opportunities for the people of Grace and the community. This series will facilitate a dialogue on the intentional inclusion of LGBT persons in a faith setting.  All sessions will be led by a member of the clergy and cover topics that call for a return to the core Christian values of hospitality, compassion, justice, mercy and genuine love for all of God's people.  Based on the resources of Scripture, Tradition, Experience and Reason, the series will also examine our theological understandings of homosexuality and God's will for individuals and the Church.  The first session on October 13 features Rev. Blaine Rader on "A Covenant for Discussion."  Subsequent sessions will be announced in future postings.  A light brunch will be served before each program.  Contact Revs. Don Niswonger or Carol Findon for further information (630-416-8393).  All are welcome!
