RETIRED CHICAGO CUB KERRY WOOD HEADS TO NAPERVILLE FOR HOLIDAY BOOK SIGNING
Chicago’s favorite Cub will be making an appearance at Anderson’s Book Shop in Naperville to sell and sign All You Can Be: Learning & Growing Through Sports for Triumph Books. In his 1st children’s book, Wood explains how he is living proof that with hard work, determination and sacrifice, any dream – big or small – can become a reality and his was to play professional baseball.
Co-written by MLB.com reporter Carrie Muskat, Wood enlisted the help of 30 Chicago Public School students 4th -8th, to provide drawings exemplifying their own goals for the future. Their work became the illustrations for All You Can Be, and a portion of all proceeds from book sales will help support children’s programs run by the Wood Family Foundation, an organization that he and wife Sarah founded in June 2011.
Currently, the WFF is hosting a holiday Warm Wishes coat and toy drive in December and planning for the annual Woody’s Winter Warm-Up fundraiser in January.
