14th Annual Self-Employment in the Arts (SEA) Conference

Join us for the 14th Annual SEA Conference.  This program is geared towards emerging artists in the visual, performing, literary, and media arts.  The focus is on the business of arts.  Activities include keynote speakers, workshops, panel discussions, one-on-one mentoring, small round table discussions, and much more. The event is open to all but there are special activities for college students including the Juried College Art Competition and $1,000 Artistic Business Plan Pitch Competition.  According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistic, 6 out of 10 artists are self-employed.  Make sure you have the necessary business tools, connections, and resources to succeed!  Visit www.selfemploymentinthearts.com for more details.  SEA is housed at North Central College and funded through grants from The Coleman Foundation, John E. and Jeanne T. Hughes Foundation, and Illinois Arts Council, a state art agency.  Additional support is provided by Guident Business Solutions, Ed Hoy's International, Russell Law, Ace Metal, Beloit College, Millikin University, Illinois State University, and other private donors.
