Whiz Kids: Solid Gold Winners

This week Naperville Patch honors a group of students from District 204.

Each week Naperville Patch will seek suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments.

We want to hear about these amazing children and teens and select one each week as the Patch Whiz Kid. Submit your nomination in our comment box below or e-mail the information to Local Editor Mary Ann Lopez at . Be sure to include all of the information that's featured below.

○      Whiz Kids’ names: Megan Lin, Chase Smith, Ryan Taloff, Fletcher Chamberlain, Ashley Block, Jack Overholt, Connor Menconi, Tommy Welsh, Eric Sciortino, Agustin Garcia, Quinn Bryan, Kesley Lennox, Alex Konicki, Randy Mertes, and Rachel Myrna.

○      Whiz Kids’ ages: High School

○      Whiz Kids’ schools: Metea Valley, Neuqua Valley, Waubonsie Valley High Schools and the District 204 STEPS program.

○      Whiz Kids’ accomplishment: All of the students listed were Gold Medal Winners.

○      Whiz Kids' Key to Awesomeness (what made him/her successful?): All of the students are Special Olympic athletes from Indian Prairie School District 204 who participated in the State’s Special Olympics Competition held at Illinois State University. All of the kids brought home the gold.

Thanks to a partnership with , each weekly Whiz Kid will receive a certificate good for one free slice of pizza at the restaurant's or locations.
