Slash to Shred on Stage at 2013 Ribfest

The top hat. The shades. The hair. The riffs. 

It will all be there on stage as former Guns N' Roses lead guitarist Slash performs live Friday, July 5 during the Naperville Exhcange Club's annual Ribfest this summer.

Slash's most recent album, Apocalyptic Love, is the second studio release by the musician who has established a solo career since playing with Guns N' Roses. 

“It’s been an interesting road from the mid 90s up until now,” Slash said in a release. “I never stopped to think, ‘What am I gonna to do in the long term?’ Or ruminated on my solo career, where it was heading. I’ve just been jamming around, going wherever the muse has taken me. And this is the first time where I feel like I’m in the saddle and riding my own destiny with some genuine focus.”

Slash joins other headliners including Styx on July 3, Casey James and Love and Theft on July 4, Rick Springfield on July 6 and Lynyrd Skynyrd on July 7. General Admission tickets will be available for sale on-line beginning April 20. Tickets will be date specific and can be purchased at www.ribfest.net. 

The 26th annual Ribfest runs from July 3 through 7 and will have plenty of family activities, live music and, of course, rib vendors from across the country. All proceeds from Ribfest go to support the elimination of Child Abuse and Domestic Violence, according to the Exchange Club of Naperville.
