Portion of West Branch Trail in Naperville to Close

A section of the West Branch Regional Trail near Ogden Avenue in Naperville will be closed for maintenance for two weeks.

A section of the West Branch Regional Trail near Ogden Avenue in Naperville will be closed for maintenance for two weeks, weather permitting, starting July 22.

The closed section will be between Ogden and Jefferson avenues in Naperville, north of the BNSF railroad tracks and will include the Ogden Avenue underpass. The Forest Preserve District’s in-house crews will carry out the work. While the section is closed, trail users can use sidewalks along River Road and Jefferson and Ogden avenues as alternate routes.

This section of the West Branch Regional Trail was a cooperative effort between the Forest Preserve District, the park district and Naperville to create a walkway through Naperville along the West Branch of the DuPage River. The three agencies worked together to acquire land, construct new trails and maintain existing trails within forest preserves, parks and residential areas.
