Naperville Teens to Compete in 10th Annual Battle of the Bands

Naperville Park District Youth Ambassadors will host the 2013 Battle of the Bands this Friday, May 17.

The Naperville Park District Youth Ambassadors will host the 2013 Battle of the Bands, a free event featuring nine of the community’s top high school student rock bands, representing all five area high schools.

The public is invited to hear the variety of music created by local students and cheer on their favorite bands.

The lineup is as follows:

5:10 p.m. – Peter Halbert’s Legion - Naperville Central High School

5:30 p.m.  – Naught - Metea Valley High School

5:50 p.m. – Bro Spice - Naperville North High School

6:10 p.m. – Dead Yet Alive - Naperville North High School

6:30 p.m. – We Laugh at Monsters - Neuqua Valley High School

6:50 p.m. – The Lucky Ones – Waubonsie Valley High School

7:10 p.m. – The Tipsters – Neuqua Valley High School

7:30 p.m.  – My Last Obsession - Naperville North High School

7:50 p.m. – The Bluefish Movement - Neuqua Valley High School 

What: Performances will be followed by the awarding of the top honors. The first place winner will perform at Ribfest at a time to be determined and will advance to the Illinois Park District Association’s Regional Battle of the Bands with a chance to perform at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield. The second and third place finishers will play at the Naperville Park District’s Rollin’ on the River series on the Riverwalk this summer. Concert t-shirts will be available for $15 at the event.

When: Battle of the Bands begins at approximately 5:00 p.m. and will conclude at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17.

Where: The event will be held at the Community Concert Center at Central Park, located at 104 E. Benton Ave.
