The Tie Bar owners Greg Shugar and his wife Gina are proving that small businesses are capable of doing big things - like teaming up with a celebrity and politician to rally support for same-sex marriage.

On Wednesday afternoon, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, a star of ABC's 'Modern Family', and Lt. Governor Shelia Simon visited The Tie Bar in Naperville to advocate the passing of gay marriage legislation in Illinois.
The Tie Bar, a popular Naperville-based online men's neckware company, recently partnered with Ferguson and his fiancé Justin Mikita's Tie the Knot organization. The Tie the Knot bow tie collection is designed and sold by The Tie Bar with all proceeds benefiting marriage equality.
Ferguson, Mikita and Simon will travel to Springfield for "Bow Tie Lobby Day" to lobby the General Assembly to pass marriage equality during this month's legislative session.
The good Lord is the only one to judge, not you. God doesn't make mistakes, so obviously gay people are fine in God's eyes, just not the almighty Catholics. Get over yourselves before you lose even more. And by your own logic, why should any of us listen to you???
And for the record, I mean no disrespect to the sane Catholics that may be reading this.
Lutheran Church Abuse Victims Receive $69 Million Settlement
Lynne Huskinson, a lesbian couple who got married in Canada last August, sent a letter recently to their state legislator decrying a Wyoming bill that would deny recognition to same-sex marriages. The lawmaker read the letter on the floor of the legislature. Soon after, on Ash Wednesday, a local paper interviewed the couple and ran a story including pictures of them with ash on their foreheads, a mark of their Roman Catholic faith. Not long after that the couple received a notice from their parish church telling them they have been barred from receiving Communion. Amen!! Let there be more.

Lutheran Church Abuse Victims Receive $69 Million Settlement
Sin ce neither you nor I are Lutheran, we should not be so jubilant. There are gymnastic coaches, social workers, people of all walks of life accused this way. I suspect that something like this done in God's name is especially painful and cuts deeper into the heart of the victim--who may then blame God for his abuse. But if you read the article you will find statements saying this case in the ELCA is the first case and the hierarchy has asserted that it conducts various tests, etc., to ensure that pastoral candidates are not blighted by this tendency. I don't assume that all Catholic priests are gay or pedophilic just because some bad cases have rightfully come to light. And you should not assume that way about all members of other denominations. And no, I am not Lutheran.
"It shoulda been me Shoulda been you That was hanging on the cross." What Jesus did, He did in our place---because we are corrupted from birth and cannot ourselves earn it.. And pardon for sins only comes by asking Jesus to forgive us for our sins and to come into our lives and to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This is what Jesus meant by being "born again." People can be religious all their lives and not be born again; people can belong to just about any denomination (though I do feel uneasy about a couple) and if they have been born again, they belong to the "one true faith". That, not denominational titles, is the key.
