Edward Hospital Named Title Sponsor of Naperville Marathon

Edward Hospital announced a three-year agreement with the Naperville Marathon and Half Marathon, which takes place in November.

Edward Hospital has signed a three-year agreement to be the title sponsor of the Naperville Marathon and Half-Marathon.  

The Naperville Marathon, which sold out within one day back in January, will take place Sunday, Nov. 10 and will be a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon. The marathon will start and finish at the North Central College athletic complex - near South Loomis Street and East Porter Avenue - and run through an extensive loop in central, south and east Naperville.

“With its reputation as a premier provider of healthcare services and a leader in fitness, wellness and prevention, Edward Hospital is a perfect fit as our title sponsor,” co-race director Bob Hackett said in a release.

This year's marathon and half marathon will accommodate 3,500 runners. Registration was nearly split in half, with 1,846 runners signing up for the half-marathon and 1,654 for the marathon.

Depending on the success of the marathon, organizers said the runner demand could reach nearly 16,000 participants over the next five years.

“We’re proud and excited to be a partner to bring this exciting event to Naperville,” Edward Hospital CEO Pam Davis said in a release. “We look forward to helping build this into one of the most prestigious long distance running events in the country.”
