Chicago Blackhawks Singer to Take Stage at Naperville Ribfest

Jim Cornelison will sing the National Anthem at this year's festival on July 4.

Even though the NHL season is over, the familiar voice that kicks off Chicago Blackhawks games at the United Center will be heard once again at Naperville Exchange Club's Ribfest this week.

Jim Cornelison will sing the National Anthem at this year's festival on July 4 shortly before 4:30 p.m. when Love & Theft perform on the Navistar main stage.

On July 4, Ribfest will also host its annual fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. The park will open for free at 7:30 p.m. on July 4 for anyone who would like to attend the fireworks display.

This year's Ribfest will take place Wednesday, July 3 through 7 in Naperville's Knoch Park and tickets can be purchased at the gate for $15 when the fest begins.

The 26th annual Ribfest will have plenty of family activities, live music and 13 rib vendors from across the country. All proceeds from Ribfest go to support the elimination of Child Abuse and Domestic Violence, according to the Exchange Club of Naperville.

Former Guns N' Roses lead guitarist Slash performs live at Ribfest Friday, July 5. Slash joins other headliners including Styx on July 3, Casey James and Love and Theft on July 4, Rick Springfield on July 6 and Lynyrd Skynyrd on July 7. Tickets are date specific and can be purchased at www.ribfest.net.
