The Bears Look to Rebound Against Denver

The Bears defense needs to score against Denver. Offensively They are not moving the ball and didn't acquire a 1st down until late in the second quarter.

Writing last Sunday, my attitude about the Bears VS the Chiefs...if the Bears could go to the Super Bowl with Grossman as the QB, then surely Haine will be my quarterback for the rest of the season.  Along with Matt Forte, Marion Barber, Johnnie Knox, and our Defense at home will be great enough to secure this victory for the Chicago Bears; especially at home.

What a difference a game makes.  Matt Forte was hurt in the game and Haine was as erratic as ever...the Chicago Bears lost the game.   Injuries were already mounting with key players, and then we lose our most productive player.  No doubt that Matt will lose his number 1 ranking for total yards from scrimmage.   Not to mention, using it as leverage during contract negotiations.

Looking back over my notes from the game, the Bears should have won this game easily.  Why?  In the first quarter, Chicago punted the ball into a bad wind and it was a horrible punt.  But that horrible wind turned into our favor by hitting a Chiefs player and Chicago recovering.  So what did we do with that extra possession by turnover...A 3 AND OUT; PUNT!

Even though the Bears having to punt the ball and not scoring, Haine was moving out of the pocket and not making mistakes early on.  Defensively, Chicago was hammering K.C. with relentless pressure.   Peppers went the wrong way on a play and almost had a sack.  Now that particular play almost resulted in an interception by Peanut Tillman.

Henry Melton did the honors for him (Peppers) on the next defensive series with a sack.  The defense was playing like Mad Men after the Forte injury.   Before the Melton sack, K.C. was called for a holding penalty because Peppers were coming for their QB.  The Chicago Defense was not looking to lose this game.

What about the offense at this stage of the game?  Haine is looking to pass the ball down a 200 yard field instead of the 100 yards that he has to play with.  With wide open receivers, how can you miss so badly?  Even under pressure, you should have enough touch to complete a check pass.

Tyler Palco is not moving the ball for Kansas City as well.  They bring in Orton to replace him.  With his first play as QB, they attempt a trick play against Chicago and it backfired.  Ending with an injury to Orton and placing him as probable for the rest of the game.  In other words...OUT.

If stats can point out how bad a game is going, Chicago didn't have a first down until the 2nd quarter.  Marion Barber helped offensively, putting Chicago in position for a score.  The Hail Mary pass at the end of the 1st half…7 lucky point for the Kansas City Chiefs and a possible catalyst for the game.

An alert on my Blackberry tells me that Chicago VS Denver is about to start in 10 minutes.  Let's hope that The Bears get their lucky Hail Mary pass...
