Saints 'Marching In' A Bears 1st Season Loss

Injuries and bad offense yields the Bears 1st Loss of 2011 Season.

1st Quarter
The Chicago Bears and the New Orleans Saints football game started out with a defensive wall for both teams.  First possessions for both squads were 3 and out.  However, the Bears started clicking on Offense with a 42 yard run with their running back Matt Forte.  Cutler scrambles in the pocket for a nice pass to Forte, who yet again, is not going down after the pass, blowing off defenders (Contract extension??).

Cutler gets drilled to the ground after a pass (ruffing the passer) and the commentators CRY FOUL, not agreeing with the call.  No matter, Jay Cutler throws a Touchdown pass to one of my favorites on the team, Dane Sanzenbacher!!!

The Saints with the second possession of the quarter are starting to move the ball.  Possibly a missed call against the Bears on defense (hit out of bounds), the commentators are at it again, Anti-DaBears *grin*.

Mixing up their play calling and now finally attacking with the run, the Saints are moving the ball via short passes and pounding the defense by running up the middle.  The Bears defense yields no touchdown.

2nd Quarter
Our Bears start this quarter on offense again, but didn't register a first down, nice defense from the Saints.  Opposite from the 1st quarter, the Saints are continuing the run game.  Running the ball to where the Bears Safety Major Wright was beat on a 79 yard pass when the Bears had the Saints moving backwards.

The Saints defense is coming alive with Cutler getting just slammed to the ground after the pass.  Injuries are mounting up on the offensive side for the Bears; just coming apart mentally at the seams.  The Saints are controlling the time of possession this quarter keeping the Bears defense on the field.   Still mixing up the Run and Pass (Saints), the Bears keep them to a field goal during their 2nd possession of this quarter.

With no Roy Williams on the field or Earl Bennett (hurt previously this contest), the Bears offense is not clicking like their last football game.  Devin Hester has dropped a ball which could have resulted in a 1st down and New Orleans is stopping Chicago's running game.

Making matters worse, a 53 yard field goal after trying a fake punt attempt.  Chicago is getting no respect from the Saints.  Forte is just carrying the Bears on offense.

Half: Bears 10 Saints 16

3rd Quarter

The New Orleans Saints start with the football for the 2nd half.  The Bears pick it up on defense causing a 3 and out.  Forte gets the ball rolling again with a 16 yard catch and Johnny Knox picks it back up with a 30 yard catch.  Let’s Go Bears!!!  The next two passing attempts brings the Bears to a 3rd down situation.  Another bad pass and the Bears only come away with a field goal.  No running game to be found for the Bears.  Chicago Bears Football?!!

The Bears defense is still putting on pressure for 3 and outs with the Saints.  However, an offensive line let down causes a fumble by Cutler, resulting in good field position for the Saints.  7 Points for the Saints is the result for the fumble.

Matt Forte...OVER 70% OF THE OFFENSE?!!  Additionally, I haven't seen Cutlet this erratic since the NY Giants game where he was knocked out of the contest last season.  The receiving core is not at its best, this game, with any separation for longer passing plays.  The Saints are burning the clock with a 10 point lead via the running game.

Bears 13 Saints 23

4th Quarter
On the march again, the Saints are really moving the ball on the ground and trying to end this contest.  The Bears are having a hard time stopping the Saints HUGE Tight End Jimmy Graham & their running back core.  Another Touchdown (Saints)…

With the first possession of the 4th quarter for Chicago, Jay Cutler is just getting the ball out in 3 seconds or less, via cross routes or screen passes.  Matt Forte is over 100 receiving yards for the game already.  Kellen Davis gets his first catch of the day, ruled out of bounds.  Another Sack against the Bears….Jay didn't read and pick this blitz up (my opinion), resulting in that sack.

Cutler sacked yet again with a 9 yard loss.  No lead receiver & no blocking from the Tight End Kellen Davis, the Bears are getting hammered by the Saints defense.  Cutler is just slinging the ball away from himself...not showing any sign as a leader of this team.  The Bears defensively are still playing hard.

The best thing about this game ending was the Huge Hug Coach Smith gave Olin Kreutz after the game.

Final: Bears 13 Saints 30
