Chicago Bears VS. The Cleveland Browns (Last 2011 Preseason Game)

The 2011 Chicago Bears didn't play the predicted Starters for their last Preseason game against the improved Cleveland Browns.

Well, the 2010 NFC North Champions didn’t have their predicted starters playing as much, if at all, during this last preseason game versus the Cleveland Browns.  However, in my opinion, it is a good thing.  We, the fans, at least get to see the 2011 Chicago Bears possible backups perform.  If any of the starters get hurt during the regular season, we will know what is coming from their replacement(s).

My biggest concern will be with the offense side of the Bears.  The running back core looks great (1st, 2nd, 3rd starters), the QB (J. Cutler) is one tough player and C. Hanie (Backup QB) had a good game as a starter during this contest.  Now add the offensive line, serious concern.  We saw how many times the starters on the O-Line had changed last year.  The Recievers...who will be starting?

Quick Question:  Do you believe that Cutler has been knocked down and/or sacked way too much already during the preseason?

It was good to see Johnny Knox getting a start for the game.  He was catching the ball just like last year...and not a starter this year???  Another starter for the game, "Mr. Misunderstanding (released/not released)" running back Chester Taylor.  Don't get me wrong, I like him, but he kind of makes you think of why the Vikings let him walk, but hey, I was one of the biggest cheerleaders when the Bears signed him.   His performance during the game still did not impress me, but seeing Khalil Bell go down in this game, Taylor seems to have made the squad because of this injury.

Dane Sanzenbacher is fast, seems very comfortable with the offense, plus he can hold on to the ball after the catch. Dane is also catching balls thrown to him regardless of what QB is in the game.  No practice squad for him this year, my prediction.

Quick Question:  Do you think that Dane Sanzenbacher will make the team?

Now I would have spoken about the defense, but being a huge fan of it, I would have written a book.  So I will save my remarks after the first regular season game.  Guess the same has to go for the Specials Teams unit as well.  The specials teams were iffy last year 50/50.  We can't wait for the season to start.
