Bears Lose to the Superbowl Champion Packers

Chicago's Fans & Bears Defense showed up, along with Green Bay ready to play. Bears Offense? Where's the Milk Carton...

1st Quarter
After watching the Detroit Lions come back after being down by a large margin and not scoring in the 1st half on the road, then surely this talk of the Packer’s bringing the "beat down" on the Bears would reverse right?  Let's see...The Green Bay Packers with their first possession are moving the ball with their first possession.  The Bears compliment this possession by being off-sides, more than once, eager to stop this drive.  Their second off-sides call results in a Packers touchdown.

Seeing the Bears in their Orange Jerseys brought forth a lot of confidence in my vision of a Chicago victory.  Yep...first possession is a 1 yard loss (-1).  Although the Bears offense was going backwards, Chicago on third down converted, 1st DOWN!!  Knowing that pressure bursts pipes (J  A  Y), the Packers brought it.  Result?  Chicago 3 and out with their first possession.

My fingers are burning to type this, Aaron Rodgers is not missing a beat with the Packers 2nd possession by completing all of his pass attempts.  Even when the Bears are closing the pocket, no one comes close to him (scrambles/escapes).  Is this a Bears or Packers Blog via Naperville Patch???  The Packers, for some odd reason, are slowing the game down switching to running plays.  Chicago's defense holds.

All of this action in the first quarter?  Yes! Now Jay Cutler is intercepted by trying to go BIG on offense, throwing a deep pass to Roy Williams.  You can't blame him for trying to get Williams to play up to the hype before the season started.  The ball was thrown poorly and the Bears defense is back on the field.  Back on defense was not a bad thing; the bears close the Packers possession out with a sack.

Chicago's offense is going nowhere.  The Packers have a CONFIRMED LOCK on Matt Forte and Cutler has no CONFIRMED LOCK on any of his receivers.

2nd Quarter
At the beginning of every quarter, a team attempts to set a tone.  So the Bears fell for the hard count of Aaron Rodgers, presenting Green Bay with a first down.  After a slew of first downs, Aaron Rodgers moves out of the pocket, throws a pint point pass again…Packers score.

With 10 first downs (Green Bay) to 1 for the Bears, is this really the rival we speak about every year...Green Bay VS Chicago?  Wait a second, a 37 yard play to the missing Hester from last week; a 17 yard pass play to Sam Hurd.  Jay Cutler is staying in the Pocket and being patient to finding an open receiver.  The Green Bay Packers are coming hard with pressure.  However, Johnnie Knox comes up with a huge catch and we are now in the red zone.  Dane Sanzenbacher, for the 2nd game in a row, scores the Bears first touchdown!

The hard count of Aaron Rodgers is causing problems for the Bears; the “D” is steadily holding strong.  Chicago's energizing crowd is causing the Packers to false start and having delay of game penalties.   Let's go Bears!!!

Back on offense, Jay Cutler is just looking for the big play.  He could have dumped the ball a couple of times to open receivers nearby, but is looking down field.  The offense stalls to scoring only a Field Goal…after pushing the ball within the 10 yard line of the Packers.

The Bears end the first half with a sack on Rodgers and down only 7 points.

3rd Quarter
Green Bay mirrors the last play of the first half, sacking Jay Cutler EASILY.  Chicago goes 3 and out.  With help from the Chicago Fans, DaBears defense has Green Bay going 3 and out.  Tennis anyone??? Because I swear I head the line judge call 3 AND OUT for the Bears on offense again.  J

Green Bay's offensive line is helping their running back, Ryan Grant, move the ball on the ground.  It's hard to believe he is doing this against the Bears defense from the last series.  Lance Briggs was key player keeping the Packers drive stalled to a Field Goal.  It's great to see him fired up after 2 games…!

The Green Bay pass rush is crushing Chicago's offensive line.  DaBears = no receptions, no rushing, and another sack given up.  Bears Captain Jay Cutler is not showing any signs of leadership; no spark or positive energy coming from him at all.

A pass interference not called against the Packers stopped a sure touchdown for Hester.  Chicago's offense is not in sync at all.  A huge pass to Knox, who was looking to not getting hit after the reception, kept his eye off the ball…another dropped pass.  Not too much offense on either side this 3rd quarter.

Packers 20   Bears 10

4th Quarter
Aaron Rodgers just communicates with his offensive line.  And it’s the reason why they are sooo good on offense.  You can just see how hard he tries to complete a pass.  Rodgers rewards Findley again with his 3rd touchdown reception of the game.  Sad….you can't blame the defense too much; they are not dropping passes to where they have to stay on the field.

Cutler throws another interception trying to get a ball to Roy Williams who has ZERO catches in the contest.  Briggs, who has been all over the field, caused a fumble to where the Bears recovered.  The Bears defense has just played a tremendous game, doing what it can to get a victory.  A 32-yard pass from Jay Cutler to Kellen Davis puts the Bears back in the game.  With only 13 rushing yards, the Bears, who talked about rushing the ball more this game, lost.
