Battle of Naperville Selected CN100 Game of the Year

With a furious late-voting comeback, fans in Naperville selected October’s crosstown battle between North and Central as its Game of the Year.

The Game of the Week crew covered 18 games around Chicagoland this year and has narrowed the field down to the five best. Fans voted at www.cn100.tv/game_of_the_week.aspx through Nov. 19. The Naperville North-Naperville Central game will be aired at Noon and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, and at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, and Tuesday, Nov. 27.

Here are the final results:

• Naperville North Huskies vs. Naperville Central Redhawks (taped 10/12/12): Thanks to a Fourth Quarter touchdown, the Huskies defeated the Redhawks 26-23 at North Central College to become playoff eligible – 122 votes
• Lincoln-Way East Griffins at Montini Broncos (taped 8/31/12): The Griffins rushed for 217 yards as they defeated the three-time defending Class 5A champion Broncos 20-14 in Lombard – 77 votes
• Carmel Corsairs vs. Joliet Catholic Academy Hilltoppers (taped 10/5/12): The Hilltoppers clinched a playoff berth with a 31-24 overtime win over the Corsairs at Joliet Memorial Stadium – 20 votes
• Marist RedHawks at Nazareth Academy Roadrunners (taped 9/8/12): Cillian Hannon hit a 32-yard FG as time expired to give the RedHawks a 24-21 come-from-behind win over the Roadrunners – 18 votes
• Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings at Bolingbrook Raiders (taped 9/21/12): Raider quarterback Aaron Bailey ran for 156 yards and 3 TDs to lead the defending 8A champs to 45-28 win over the Vikings – 5 votes
