Zumbathon® for the Community Saw Participants Shimmy, Shake and Support
The inaugural Zumbathon® for the Community was held on Sunday, September 8 at the Madden Theater at North Central College, raising over $2000 to benefit five local charities.
Over 60 participants, some skilled veterans and some brand new to Zumba Fitness®, experienced the latest rage in Zumba during a two hour workout with five experienced instructors while supporting I Support Community, Naperville CARES, KidsMatter, The Max Lacewell Foundation and the Naperville Area Humane Society. Attendees also enjoyed a vendor fair and raffle prizes from businesses like The Eleana Collection, Stella & Dot, Mary Kay and Votre Vu.
“I loved the energy of this event! It was so much fun learning to Zumba, and getting to work with four amazing organizations. Next year, we hope to include kid Zumba so the whole family can get involved,” says Marion Ruthig, Executive Director of I Support Community.
