Community Christian Church Welcomes Communications Director to Staff

Community Christian Church is happy to welcome Heather Wachter to its central staff in the role of Communications Director.  This newly created role was designed to direct the broad-reaching communications efforts of the 12-site church.

Wachter brings to Community a strong history of non-profit communications and marketing experience from some of DuPage County’s leading non-profit organizations, including the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, Bridge Communities and Naperville Area Humane Society.  In her new role, Wachter will direct communications strategy across Community’s 12 campuses throughout the Chicagoland area, along with the two newest ones, which are being launched in October.  Prior to joining the team at Community Christian Church, Wachter served as Communications and Donor Relations Manager at Bridge Communities in Glen Ellyn.

“I just love this church,” Heather says.  “It’s where my family and I found our way back to God.  I’m grateful to be joining the staff so that I can make a difference in the lives of others who come here, and also in our community. That’s one of the things I love most about Community - total dedication to its communities, not just to those who attend services on the weekends.”

“Community’s on a phenomenal growth journey,” says Doug Leddon, Business and Operations Director of Community Christian Church.  “We identified the need for a Communications Director to join our team to streamline and strategize our communications functions, which continue to grow as we add more ministries and more campuses.  Heather’s got the winning combination of passion for our mission and an outstanding background in communications.  We’re glad to welcome her aboard.”
