Who knew love could taste this good? 

Restaurants and pizza places throughout the Naperville area will be serving up and delivering heart-shapped pizzas this Valentine's Day. 

If low-key and laid-back is your Valentine's Day-style, check out one of these local businesses for your heart-shaped pizza: 
  • Uncle Pete's Pizza Shop, 815 N. Washington St. in Naperville, has heart-shaped pizzas available this Valentine's Day and over the weekend. Ask for the heart-shaped pizza when ordering, according to Pete's Facebook page. The phone number is (630) 357-5111. 
  • Francesca's Restaurants are serving heart-shaped pizzas. The restaurant has two locations in Naperville: 18 W. Jefferson Ave., 630-961-2706; and 3124 South Route 59, 630-946-0600. 
  • Old Town Pizza Co., 959 Artesian, Suite 167, in Naperville, has all-day delivery of heart-shaped pizzas on Valentine's Day for $12.95, according to Old Town's Facebook page. The phone number is 630-922-4600. 
  • Amato's Pizza & More, 3150 N. Aurora Road in Aurora, is taking orders for its heart-shapped pizzas. Call (630) 236-0055 to order. 
  • Lou Malnati's will serve heart-shaped pizzas at any of its 37 pizzerias this Valentine’s Day.  Each pizza is 9 inches. The Naperville Lou Malnati's is located at 131 West Jefferson Avenue and the phone number is (630) 717-0700. Lou Malnati's is open from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday. 
  • Giordano's will have heart-shaped pizzas available in restaurants Feb. 13 to 16, according to Giordano's website. Heart-shaped pizzas can also be shipped nationwide. There is a Giordano's at 119 S Main St. in Naperville and the phone number is (630) 428-2111. There is also a Giordano's at 3224 S. Route 59 #120 in Naperville and the phone number is (630) 904-9800. 
  • Branconis, 4003 Plainfield Naperville Road in Naperville, IL 60564, 630) 369-4922, has heart-shaped pizzas, according to a Naperville Patch Facebook user who shared a photo of her heart-shaped pizza with Patch this past week. 
  • Vita Bella, 12443 S. Rt. 59 in Plainfield, offers delivery to Naperville and will have heart-shaped pizzas available for Valentine's Day, according to Vita Bella Pizza's Facebook page. Pizzas can be pre-ordered: 815-369-3939. 

Make Your Own Heart-Shaped Pizza At Home

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of ready made bread dough
  • 1 cup pizza sauce (prepared or your own homemade)
  • 8 oz. fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 18-20 slices of pepperoni
Preparation:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  • If using a pizza stone or cast iron pizza pan, sprinkle with cornmeal. If using a cookie sheet or metal pizza pan, grease with olive oil, then sprinkle with cornmeal.

  • Remove dough from refrigerator and stretch or roll out to a thickness of 1/2-inch. Shape into a heart. You can use a cutter to create this shape. Prick several places with a fork.

  • Bake in preheated oven 10 minutes.

  • Remove from oven and top with pizza sauce, leaving a 1-inch border all the way around.

  • Sprinkle cheese over sauce.

  • Outline with pepperoni in a heart shape.

  • Bake another 10-20 minutes until pizza is golden and bubbly.
