Visions for Vacancies: Washington Street

Our newest series asks you what should fill vacant storefronts in Naperville.

In our third installment of Visions for Vacancies we're putting the focus on Washington Street again. More specifically, 103 S. Washington St. at the former Calico Corners custom fabric store.


Unlike last week's vacancy, this building has plenty of options for parking with a large lot and rear entrance as well as a close proximity to the Van Buren Parking Deck. We have so many gifted and talented craftsman here in the Naperville area. It would be great to see more of these artisans works for sale. I am a strong believer in supporting Mom and Pop enterprises. It is my belief that embracing our own talented people with talents and skills to share will turn this economy toward a positive direction.

Local artisans couldn't afford the overpriced rents downtown landlords are demanding. Look how many have already fled!
