Traverso's Restaurant Reopens After Friday Fire

Traverso's Restaurant in Naperville is back open for business after a fire in the restaurant's kitchen started Friday night.

A Naperville restaurant reopened this weekend after a small kitchen fire caused an evacuation Friday evening.

The fire caused about $15,000 in damage to Traverso's Restaurant, 2523 Plainfield Naperville Rd., shortly before 7 p.m. Friday night, but the restaurant was back up and running for dinner on Saturday.

"We apologize to any of our guests who were inconvenienced and we thank you, as always, for your business. Despite the damage, we will be OPEN for full business as usual at 4pm today!," Traverso's posted on Facebook Saturday.

No one was injured in the fire, which started in the kitchen of Traverso's Restaurant. Crews were able to extinguish the fire "within a few minutes," according to the fire department. 

The cause of the fire was listed as unintentional and "due to prolonged exposure to excessive heat," according to the fire department.
