People on the Move: Library Retirement; New Real Estate Hire

Naperville Public Library announces retirement of employee with 37 years of service. Calamos Real Estate has new president.

Retirement

After 37 years with the , Marcia Lebeau has retired. Lebeau was an administrative director for the library.

Lebeau began her career with the library in 1974 as a circulation clerk, moving into the business office and administration, according to the Naperville Public Library.

While employed with the library, she watched it grow from a small building on Washington Street with 25 employees to a public library with more than 280 employees, three buildings, 168,000 square feet of space and an annual circulation of more than 5 million items, according to a news release from the Naperville Public Library.

“I will miss Marcia’s dedication to the library as well as her historic perspectives and her expertise,” said Donna Dziedzic, executive director of the Naperville Public Library, in a news release. “She also has a very generous spirit that made her a delight.”

Uma Sailesh, has been appointed the new administrative director. Sailesh has worked for the library as its human resources and organizational development manager.

New president

 has a new president. The company announced on Tuesday that Spyros. G. Kapsalis was named to the position. Calamos Real Estate is a subsidiary of Calamos Property Holdings, LLC.

“We are pleased with the addition of Mr. Kapsalis to the Calamos Real Estate organization. His experience in commercial real estate, private equity and commercial banking will be extremely valuable in both our current and future endeavors,” said John P. Calamos Sr., CEO of Calamos Property Holdings, LLC in a news release.

Prior to joining Calamos, Kapsalis was the CEO and president of Sunlite Capital Corporation, a holding company pursuing corporate and real estate acquisitions. According to a news release from Calamos Real Estate, he also has experience managing strategic services for corporate occupiers of real estate as executive vice president of Jones Lang LaSalle where he completed some of the largest real estate transactions in the Chicago area.

In previous roles, Kapsalis originated real estate, leveraged buyouts and recapitalization financing at Bank of America and Credit Lyonnais.
