City unanimously approves tax incentive, which allows for retailer to relocate and develop a new 170,000 square-foot Walmart Supercenter near 75th Street and Beebe Drive.

School news

For the sixth consecutive year, Naperville Community Unit School District 203 college readiness scores are above the 50 percent mark. District 204 also remains above state average.

During Monday's board of education meeting, officials announced Dan Bridges as the district's new superintendent.


Police and fire

Adam Drop of Naperville faces charges of failing to report an accident and failing to render aid after an accident involving an injury.

After being accreditied for 15 consecutive years, the Naperville Fire Department is now one of three departments in the world to be designated as a "Legacy Agency."

The Naperville Fire Department is asking residents for donations of used vehicles in order to practice auto extrication skills.

Naper Settlement and Naperville Heritage Society president and CEO announced her retirement earlier this week, effective January 2013.
