Naperville City Council to Vote on Topgolf Proposal

The proposed $20 million development would be located north of I-88 and west of Route 59, according to the Naperville Sun.

The Naperville City Council on Tuesday will decide whether to provide a liquor license for a a proposed new attraction, Topgolf, in Naperville, which would be located on a 14-acre site on the north side of town and would include 104 driving range bays, four dining rooms, two bars and private event space, according to the Naperville Sun. 

The proposed $20 million development would be located north of I-88 and west of Route 59 and would include three levels, 65,000-square feet of space and would would employ 450 people, according to the Naperville Sun. The business plans to serve food until closing time, the newspaper reports.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: The Naperville Liquor Commission approved a late-night liquor permitfor Topgolf, a high-tech golf center that is hoping to build a three-story driving range and restaurant just northwest of Route 59 and Interstate 88, according to the Chicago Tribune. 

The Naperville City Council will still have to give its stamp of approval for the business, which is looking to purchase 14 acres of land to build the 65,000-square-foot facility, according to the article.

If approved by the city council,Topgolf would aim to break ground later in 2014 and be up and running by late spring or early summer of 2015, according to the Chicago Tribune. 

Topgolf currently has a location in Wood Dale.
