Linebacker Grille Closes After Only 3 Months in Business

Located in the space of the former Show Me's, the family-friendly restaurant celebrated its grand opening in April, but now sits vacant.

After opening only three short months ago,  has closed down.

Celebrating its grand opening back in April, the family-friendly restaurant at 1126 E. Ogden Ave. sits vacant today—signs stripped down and all. Even the restaurant's website is listed as "under construction."

A number of restaurants have come and gone at the same location, including a Show Me's, .

The Linebacker Grille provided a more upscale experience compared to a traditional sports bar and employed about 50 staff members, .

An extensive update to the building's interior was done before it opened. Beckner said he removed much of the wood interior and added a fireplace to the restaurant's dining room.

Menu prices ranged from about $6.95 for a classic flatbread up to $21.95 for a ribeye chimichurri. Items included appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, entrees and flatbreads. A variety of craft beers, including beer from local brewery Two Brothers Brewing Co., as well as a wine list were also made available to diners.

I ate there once and wrote a review that said it would close in less than a year. I was off by 9 months. You cannot expect a restaurant to succeed in Naperville when the food sucks and management was indifferent and rude to customers. Sorry to see them go, but not surprised.

Wasn't that where Famous Dave's sat for years? Or am I thinking of a different stretch of Ogden?

Same place. Famous Daves, Show Me's and then Linebacker. Now empty once again.

Never set foot in that place, heard the food and service was flat out awful! Rumor has it the owner Dennis was the worst person to work for.
