Kerry Wood will be making an appearance on Tuesday, Dec. 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Anderson's to sell and sign his book "All You Can Be: Learning & Growing Through Sports."

"All You Can Be" is Wood's first children’s book, which emphasizes the importance of hard work, determination and sacrifice both in life and sports.

Co-written by MLB.com reporter Carrie Muskat, Wood enlisted the help of 30 Chicago Public School students in grades 4th through 8th to provide drawings exemplifying their own goals for the future, according to a news release. The drawings eventually became the illustrations for All You Can Be.

A portion of all proceeds from book sales will help support children’s programs run by the Wood Family Foundation, an organization that he and wife Sarah founded in June 2011, the release said.

The Wood Family Foundation is focused on improving the lives of children living in the Chicagoland area.
