Grumpy, green Grinch figures will be hiding in about 60 local stores and businesses in Naperville as part of IndieBOUND's "Grow Your Heart Three Sizes" holiday event and scavenger hunt.

To celebrate his 55th birthday, Dr. Seuss' the Grinch will be visiting different local businesses throughout the month of December. If you're lucky enough to spot him, you can win prizes, including candy canes, books and more.

“What could be more fun than finding the Grinch, but finding him at local independent businesses in your community," said Becky Anderson of Anderson’s Bookshop in a release. “Grow Your Heart Three Sizes celebrates the uniqueness, fun and strength of community.”

To participate, pick up a “Grow Your Heart Three Sizes” search list at Anderson's Bookshop with the names of all the businesses and collect an "I Found the Grinch at (Naperville location)" card for each Grinch you spot, according to a release.

Collecting cards in 16 or more businesses and turning them in at Anderson’s will win a candy cane and an entry for other. Larger prizes of Dr. Seuss-related books and toys to be drawn at 2 p.m. on Dec. 28 at Anderson's Grinch party at Anderson’s Bookshop in downtown Naperville.

In celebration of the Grinch's longevity and popularity, IndieBOUND Naperville has adopted the character this holiday season to promote shopping local at area businesses, including Anderson’s Bookshop here in Naperville, according to a release.

This year is the first time the Seuss estate has given permission for this kind of promotional program. There is no charge to participate, and the scavenger hunt lasts until Dec. 28.
