Dick's Sporting Goods Opening Wednesday

After months of construction, Dick’s Sporting Goods will be opening its doors to shoppers on Wednesday.

The store, located in the Springbook Prairie Pavilion, near , will open Wednesday, with its grand-opening happening Friday through Sunday. The grand opening festivities will include gift card giveaways and appearances by Chicago Bears players along with activities taking place throughout the store all weekend.

Dick’s Sporting Goods is the largest sporting good retailer in the United States with stores in 42 states across the country, according to Dick’s Sporting Goods. The company also owns Golf Galaxy. The Naperville Dick’s location will be store number 23 in Illinois and the 474 to open nationwide. 

Along with the grand opening in Naperville, the company will also have grand openings the same weekend in Ohio, Virginia and Arkansas.

"Dick's Sporting Goods is excited to become a member of the Naperville community with the opening of our newest location," Lauren Hobart, Dick's Sporting Goods Chief Marketing Officer said in a news release. "Unsurpassed customer service and the best products in the industry are the hallmarks of our stores and we're excited to bring these traditions to Naperville. We look forward to becoming an integrated member of the Naperville community."  

Among the grand opening giveaways, the store will be giving away free T-shirts on Friday to the first shoppers through the door, according to a news release from Dick’s. On Saturday, Crocs will be giving away a pair of shoes to the first 100 shoppers. Sunday there will be a “mystery card” gift card giveaway, with amounts ranging from $5 to one $500 gift card. 

Chicago Bears wide receiver Earl Bennett is expected be at the store from noon–2 p.m. on Saturday, with Bears offensive tackle Gabe Carimi stopping at the store Sunday from 1–3 p.m., according to Dick’s.

Dick's Sporting Goods in the Springbrook Prairie Pavilion is located at 2763 W. 75th St. Special extended store hours will also be in effect for Friday, 8 a.m.–10 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m.–10 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m.–8 p.m.
