Cooper's Hawk Set to Open Aug. 1

Wine drinkers can save the date. August 1 is the day that Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant will open its doors at its location in Freedom Commons.

Naperville Patch reported in April that the winery would be opening a Naperville location. Ground was broken for the location in February.

In April, Founder and CEO Tim McEnery said that while the location will be similar in concept to the company’s other locations, the Naperville restaurant will have the winery’s largest tasting bar yet, with a special separate round tasting bar to accommodate larger groups.

The restaurant will be about 11,000-square-feet with 300 seats and will employ about 125 people, McEnery said.

"Our goal is to make it fun and easy for people to learn more about wine and food, try new flavors, and expand their palates,” McEnery said in a news release Tuesday. “We’ve brought together some of the best talents in winemaking and the culinary arts to create inventive, flavorful food and wine pairings. At the same time, we want to be approachable and affordable.”

Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant at Freedom Commons will offer lunch and dinner seven days a week, Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The tasting room opens at 11 a.m. daily, and shares the same closing hours as the restaurant.
