Cardinal Fitness Sells to Midwest Fit Club

Cardinal Fitness members from the Naperville location will have their contracts honored with a few stipulations.

The change happened overnight. closed its doors on Tuesday and re-opened Wednesday as Midwest Fit Club.

While the new fitness club says Cardinal members can continue to use the club, they may be affected soon depending on the contract they had with the previous owner.

An employee who would not identify herself other than to say she was a manager at the new club, located near Route 59 and 111th Street, said memberships would be honored for anyone who was specifically a member at the Naperville location.

Former Cardinal Fitness members who had a premium membership contract and paid $19.95 a month will not see any changes to their membership packages and will have the annual fee waived, according to the Midwest Fit Club Web site.

Those former Cardinal members with the basic $10 membership will need to eventually upgrade, according to Midwest Fit Club's Web site. The basic membership will be honored through February, at which time basic membership holders will be required to upgrade to a “full contract” at $19.95 per month.
