Although Café Buonaro’s closed its doors last September, their legacy is alive and well. The restaurant recently was purchased by a relative and is now Bella Familia. The restaurant is in the same location at 300 E5th Avenue and will carry on the tradition good, homemade Italian food.
“We knew we wanted to keep a few of the favorites from Buonaro’s on the menu,” said Tina Marie Buonaro McConnaughey, General Manager of Bella Familia. “Old favorites like Baked Spaghetti and Chicken Marley are still being prepared the same way – with lots of love!”
The Italian gem’s new owner, Michael Genovise, has brought in a new Chef, Martin Perdomo, who has added some excellent new dishes.
“The new menu offers some different pasta dishes, new sauce options, meat and seafood selections along with whole wheat pasta and gluten free options,” said Genovise. “Our Chef also has nightly specials ranging from appetizers, salads, seafood, meats and desserts.”
Though some of the old décor is still evident, the Rat Pack dominates the theme with pictures of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra and others gracing the walls.
The feeling of “family” is still an important part of the restaurant. With Tina Marie Buonaro serving as General Manager, guests will feel welcome and part of the Bella Familia Family!
“Being part of the community was very important to my Uncle Ronnie, so I look forward to carrying on that tradition,” said Genovise, “As a Chicago native, I look forward to getting to know the city and the people of Naperville and serving them great Italian food, just like my Uncle Ronnie did.”Join Bella Familia on facebook and visit us online for more information at www.bellafamiliarestaurant.com
