Former Naperville Man Charged with Child Exploitation

26-year-old man allegedly sent sexually explicit texts and images to 14-year-old girl, according to police.

A former Naperville man has been charged with sexual exploitation of a child following a three-month investigation by the Naperville Police Department, police said.

Gregory A. Chambers, 26, was arrested June 21 in Whiting, Ind., where he currently lives, after police said he had been sending sexually explicit images of himself to a 14-year-old girl via text message.

Police said Chambers also had inappropriate conversations with the girl, who is a relative of his and was living in Arkansas at the time.

The Naperville Police Department High Technology Computer Crimes Unit began investigating the incidents three months ago after receiving a call from the Baxter County Sheriff's Office in Arkansas, police said.

During the alleged conversations, Chambers was living in the 500 block of Kiowa Drive in east Naperville, police said.

Following the investigation, Chambers was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child, one count of grooming and one count of electronic harassment, according to police.

Chambers was arrested in Indiana and transported to DuPage County Jail where he awaits a hearing.
