We had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with Naperville Mayor George Pradel and get the inside scoop about what to expect at the outing. Here’s what he had to say:

What are you looking forward to most as the host of this year’s event? A lot of camaraderie, good golfing, and raising funds for about 10 charities that support our young people. Despite the name of the event-- it’s all about raising money for our kids, not about the mayor. I expect we will have a bigger crowd this year since we are back at White Eagle. There are many other charity golf outings, all for the great causes, but I think ours is unique because the mayor is representing all the children in town.

How do the sponsors like Bill Jacobs BMW help make the Mayor’s Golf Outing a success for the community? Sponsorship is really what makes the event happen. We are thrilled that Bill Jacobs BMW has been a sponsor for so many years. They give us an opportunity to create an exciting outing that pulls in the community. Sponsorship lets us give some prizes away, and helps cover the costs of the event, so that we can gather and give more proceeds for our charities. I am so happy for that. We have 40 sponsors this year, which will bring a lot of excitement. We are able to subsidize out some funding for the kids, through this event. With the economy, a lot of these foundations have lost state and federal funding from government cut backs. Bill Jacobs BMW finds time every year to reach out and help the community, and we praise them for that.
