Friday

Looking to get a jump on your holiday shopping list? will take place all day. Visitors will receive 20 percent off their purchases of unique and special holiday gifts as well as a free gift wrap. The sale enables the Explorer Store at the to offer an expanded selling area that includes the lower level of the museum. All store profits help support the and its programs.

Saturday

Come one, come all! The city of Pátzcuaro, Mexico, will officially become the city of Naperville's second Sister City at a Saturday signing and flag raising ceremony. The public is encouraged to attend the ceremony in the lobby. Drinks and music will be provided after the program at a reception for dignitaries, community leaders, residents and friends.

Want coffee from Central America? A gift from Africa? Well now you don't have to leave the city of . The will be held this weekend in the Heininger Auditorium and the Larrance Academic Center by Students in Free Enterprise, known as SIFE. A documentary film, Coffee, Culture & Conscious, by Scott Loberger will be shown as part of the opening day activities. Bring family, friends or just yourself. But be sure to stop by and check it out!

The is inviting residents to attend its . The session is an experiment on how gears fit and move together and attendees will create an artistic version using paint and printing. The event is free to members of the museum. Get in Gear is designed for kids to explore and experiment so take advantage of the opportunity to meld learning with fun.

This weekend, it's time to move. So get out of the house and attend a dance class offered at 's Madden Theatre. Lovar Davis Kidd, whose stage performances include Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular and Tim Rice and Elton John's Aida, will teach two dance master classes — contemporary and hip hop.

Sunday

A free hosted by the Home and School Association this Sunday will feature more than 50 crafters and home-based business representatives. If you're looking for a unique or handmade holiday gift, it's the place to go.

Whimsical family fun is what weekends are all about. Well look no further than by the DuPage Symphony Orchestra. The show will be held Sunday afternoon in North Central College's Wentz Concert Hall. Join in on the action as the Puppet Theatre of Cincinnati shares the stage with the DuPage Symphony Orchestra for marvelous music, fantastic fairy tales and friendly and colorful puppets. Tickets are $12.

Have a toddler who can't sit still? Put that energy to good use this weekend at a for kids being hosted by the . The session will focus on movement and expressiveness for 3- to 5-year-olds without the rigid rules and expectations.
